What was the highlight of Semiramis Village
Great value for money, but with some trade-offs
The staff at the reception is very friendly and informative. The hotels offers a swimming pool, a tennis court and a ping pong. The food at the main restaurant was pretty decent, with the restaurant staff being very proactive. (apart from what I would assume to be the restaurant manager, who just stands at the restaurant door). All-inclusive drinks are also offered on the pool bar from 11 am to 11 pm. However there were no "cocktails". Basically there was a soda machine and some alcohol and you could for example get a "rum cola". Also note that the soda provided was not the original ones, so that could be an issue for some people. The hotel has a lot of rooms spread out on different buildings. The hotel rooms are kinda old and they would need a refurbishment, but the comfort was ok. Next is the location of the hotel: it is located on top of a hill. The bus station (bus stop 25) is located 200m away and goes to many of the surrounding towns like Stalida, Hersonissos, Malia, etc. On google maps the nearest beach (Παραλία Δράπανον) is not accessible (as it's been blocked by the hotel near it) so the actual nearest beach on foot with sunbeds is the "Natural Pebble Beach" (~18 min by foot), however this is very small and you might want to continue even further to the likes of Star beach. To cross the highway some people just jumped the border, however there is a pedestrian tunnel about 100m on the right, which is a safer way to pass. Additionally, since you need to walk a lot to these beaches (on return it's a lot of uphill on the direct sunlight which can be tiring) you can also go to Stalida by bus. (2 euro each way)
- Offbrand soda drinks. - No real cocktails included on all-inclusive. - The location isn't very good if you want to walk to the beach, or if you want to explore the nearby towns. - Some rooms are very high up and require a lot of stairs. (One of our double room was on the first floor, easily accessible with an elevator, whereas the other one was 5 floors up via stairs which could get tiring.) - No entertainment or anything during the day. (not even music by the pool). There was only one night a week of "Traditional greek dance", that we unfortunately missed. - Main restaurant was often busy and crowded, and I found the tables to be closer to each other than on most other hotels. Often there would be queues at the grill station or at the drinks machines. - Overall this hotel needs some renovation.

What was the highlight of Semiramis Village
Was a good holiday. If we visit Crete again and need cheaper hotel, would consider it again.
Overall good budget hotel. Certainly not 4* comparing to other european 4* hotels but you get what you pay for. Rooms and common area were clean. Food is good but would not say best that Greece can offer (food was better in Rhodes 4* hotels). But there is always a choice what to eat. Swimming pool is big enough and always had enough free sunbeds. For 400 eur 7 nights for 3 people it was very good value. You get to eat and drink all day and clean room. But if you choose this hotel and dont plan to spend all time in the hotel you certainly need to rent a car. Getting to hotel from airport is ~50 eur (one way). We had rental car for full week so could drive around as much as we wanted.
Rooms are little tired and would need some updating. Shower is rather narrow (in the corner). AC in the room is old (still works) and makes noise which can be disturbing at night (had to give few slaps to plastic parts that they wouldnt rattle that much).

What was the highlight of Semiramis Village
Good
The hotel has an amazing view and good facilities.
I believe the air conditioning in the rooms needs improvement, and the room I received to stay in with my wife did not have a double bed. Instead, they put together two single beds with wheels, which turned out to be very uncomfortable. Another very negative point was the gym: only the exercise bike was working, but it made a lot of noise, which led the SPA staff to ask me to stop my activities.
